As a hobbyist games developer I would like to build something similar, yet in a fantasy genre. Something that scales up to tens of thousands of players with a huge world.
After AoA is released could you make your design pattern for this game, i.e. how it scales up and uses Azure, etc. be put into a (Visual Studio?) template so that others could make other types of Ultra-MMO's?
How separate is game logic from the underlying infrastructure? Could traditional game dev roles just work they way they always do, level designer, scripter, etc and not have to consider too much about how the game scales?
Finally, what advice can you give for someone trying to leverage Azure to make an Ultra-MMO?
